“I went to vocational school, and I learn about the culinary art and the restaurant business, and, you know, I liked it, so that’s what I did. I became a chef, and I worked in Rotterdam.. I worked in Switzerland for a year. I worked in Great Britain for a year, and then I decided I wanted to go to the States. No, actually, I was on the Holland Dominican Line, and there, the people upstairs they were all making dollars, and I told them, ‘I want to make dollars too.’ So that’s how I decided to find a job in the States.”
