This guy’s name was Kenzie. He’s from Chicago. He was a young hoodlum, and it matched my background because I was the poorest kid in a poor neighborhood back in Buffalo. I was a scrounger, and he was a scrounger, and we put things together.
Editor's Note: Gerald “Jerry” Anthony McDonnell was born July 15, 1925 to parents John and Lillian McDonnell. He grew up in a small home in South Buffalo, where he lived up to his enlistment and where he returned after the conclusion of the war to finish his education.
