"Being elected, it was the most moving experience of my life."

“June 15th, 2002. I was elected in Columbus, Ohio as a moderator of the Presbyterian Church USA. That is the highest elected position in the church… I represented the church all over America and all over the world. As I think about my journey, coming as a student studying in college, going to seminary, start working, and then for a Christian educator to say, ‘We need to put Fahed as a candidate for moderator,’ and being elected, it was the most moving experience for my life. And the only place it can happen [is] in America.”
