Immigration for Education

"I wanted to become a minister. I felt a call to the ministry."

“I wanted to become a minister. I felt a call to the ministry. Presbyterian Church had [a] seminary in Beirut, Lebanon, and had a seminary in Cairo. But there is not political relationship, so I couldn’t go to study there. So, two women from Memphis, Tennessee, I met and opened the door for me to come to the United States… I came January 29th, 1966 to study and pursue my education in Lakeland, Florida. The school, now, the name is Southeastern University. And after I finished, my professor of New Testament said, ‘You need to go to seminary.’”
