"We came on Saturday, and my girlfriend from the U of D [University of Detroit] went with me, and we both got assigned to work on Saturday from six to twelve, or maybe it was seven to eleven, I don’t remember, but anyway, we were coming there, and she was given the second floor and I got the sub-basement...It was fun down there because that was a big play room, and it had all kinds of things to play like ping-pong...We had music down there and we also had a cameraman, and he was a volunteer and he took pictures of servicemen, and we mailed them out for them. They would always have to fill out a form, and that was my job to get that information."
