Story

“Well, my grandfather owned-. He had a small farm…I can just remember going there with him once or twice as a small child. I was probably two, two and a half when we went back to live with him…The thing that I remember most was he had a small, very small, store near the railroad station in town. And he just sold staples and canned things. It was really very small. And candy! I would stand on the porch in the afternoons hoping that was the day he was going to bring me a little brown sack with candy in it. I could see when he turned the corner to come up the hill whether or not he had candy.”
