Ration book that belonged to Jane’s grandfather, William Parker, ca 1944.
ID: A light brown piece of paper titled “War Ration Book Four.” Two lines on the top read, from top to bottom, “Issued to,” followed by William Parker’s signature, and “Complete address,” followed by a handwritten address. A paragraph at the bottom reads “Read before signing: In accepting this book, I recognize that it remains the property of the United States Government. I will use it only in the manner and for the purposes authorized by the Office of Price Administration.” Under this reads “Void if Altered” followed by William Parker’s signature.
