Typed paragraphs written by British citizens to the Alien's Tribunal supporting Alfred and Johanna Regensburger in their petition to seek temporary refuge in England. Eleanor Nathan wrote: "Mr. Regensburger has been personally known to me for some time & Mrs. Regensburger since her childhood. I know them to be genuine refugees & strong opponents of the Nazi regime. They are anxious to do anything they can for this country, but it should be noted that they are transmigrants as all their papers are in order for them to go to the United States. It is estimated that their quota number should come round by about the middle of next year." Victor Koch wrote, "Both being victims of Nazi persecution, the husband having been interned until consented to transfer his old established business to a 'party member' for a pittance, it was made impossible for them to remain in German until their quota number for emigration to the U.S.A. was reached. Their presence in London is due to a garantie [sic] acceptable to the authorities. In their former place of residence in Germany both were generally highly respected. The undersigned, through years of personal contacts is fully able to share this opinion & prepared to vouch their reliability in every respect."
