Birth in Copenhagen

In the Shadow of St. Christiania

'...my dad had a motorcycle, and my mother started labor..."

"It was an early Thursday, 26 of March, 1952. My parents didn’t have a car, but my dad had a motorcycle, and my mother started labor, and he got home from work, [Brief chuckle at the thought] got her on the motorcycle, and got to the clinic—back then, they didn’t have hospitals where you went to, it was clinics—and so I was born in, you know, less than fifteen minutes after our ride on a motorcycle, so that was wonderful at one o’clock in the afternoon.

Copenhagen, Denmark, and right now that clinic was in the shadows of the Tower of the Savior, which is St. Christiania.
